Whine Weekend

Dear Fellow W i n os, the temperature of that white whine bottle (A Sauvignon Blanc for those who are interested) in our Hash Fridge seems to be right to provide you with all the necessary information for yet another fun filled whine featured weekend of the Vindobona WHINE House Harriers in April of 2009 in one of the most beautiful provinces of Austria, namely Styria, from April 17 - 19 (Great for their white WHINES!).

Driving Distance from Vienna city centre to Glanz an der Weinstrass (Whinestrasse) is 240 km, about 2 hours and 30 minutes. For more details see Driving Instructions from Vienna. From Zagreb, it is only 140 km and 2 hours driving, from more details, see Driving Instructions from Zagreb.

Accommodation: Gasthof/Weingut (Whinegood) Mahorko (http://www.mahorko.at/) in Glanz. The number of beds is limited to 44 place, so register quickkly to be sure of a place. Here is a rough schedule for the weekend. As always, the starting times may change and such changes will be announced on a board in the reception of the Mahorko well before time.

FRIDAY, APRIL 17

After your arrival in Glanz and after you dumped your luggage in your room, a short warm-up run will start at 18:00 (Hares: Mind the Gap and Glo-Balls). After a short circle, dinner starts at 20:30. After that, party and Hash Disco until the wee hours.

SATURDAY, APRIL 18

Saturday's Run starts at 10:30, so make sure you have breakfast and are ready by then. Meet outside the hotel.. The run will be quite long (Hares: Casting Couch, Sex Energy and Kun't Tell Ya), but the pace will be easy enough for walkers to keep up. There will be a whine-tasting during the run. Breads and spreads will be provided at the end of the run. After the circle it is time for you to get yourself in shape for the evening entertainment. All those snivelling whiners complaining about whatever will be locked up in adjacent whine cellars.

The evening starts with a whine-tasting at 6 pm and this will include a tour of the whine cellars. After the whine-tasting we will have dinner and more whine or beer. There will be some local music for entertainment and dancing to the early hours.

SUNDAY APRIL 19

After another sumptuous breakfast in your place the Hangover run (Hares: Marie Tamponette and Munk) will start at 11:00. After the following circle it is time to say goodbye. You can take a shower and get in shape again after the circle. And then it is arrividerci. Possible Lunch at the Gasthof after the Hangover run at your own cost.

PRICE FOR THE WEEKEND

Euro 180,- per person, including three runs, Goody Bag with two pieces of Haberdashery, Dinner on Friday and on Saturday, Breakfast on Saturday and on Sunday, all drinks at the restaurant (hard drinks and champagne excluded) all food and drinks on the runs (WHINE!!) and of course your stay at the Gasthof.
