This is the 'Make your mind up version' of this blurb !

As a follow up to the Bratislava trip last year, a weekend trip is being planned to Senec, which is situated on a lake about 25 km east of Bratislava. Accommodation will be on the lake-side, with swimming and boating available. There are various restaurants and bars within short walking distance, and there is a childrens playground.

The provisional time-table would be:

Arrival Friday night - barrelled beer and food will be available.

Saturday morning free for shopping (in Bratislava), sleeping, boozing, swimming, walking ...

Run Saturday afternoon at location to be finalised.

Barbeque Saturday evening, ( a whole pig will be grilled) followed by mid-night swim (regardless of weather).

Sunday morning run around the lakes.

Sunday lunch at a local Restaurant.

The cost will be 200 - 250 Austrian Schillings, which includes beer, accommmodation, food (breakfast + food Friday and Saturday Evenings). This price may be increased if lakes of beer are consumed !

It is recommended that the journey is made by private car. The roads are good, and it is about 20 minutes drive from the border. Drive through Bratislava following signs to Nitra. Follow the main road, but do not take the Motorway (which is more complicated when you arrive at Senec). At Senec, go under the bridge on the main road and about 1 km further there will be a fork in the road, where you turn right. From this point on, there will be 'hash signs'. (Maps will be distributed).

If preferred, the journey can be made by train, Sudbahnhof - Bratislava, change at Bratislava on train the Senec. The Senec station is about 10 minutes walk from where we will be staying.
