Senec is in Slovakia, 25 km east of Bratislava , and is a well known recreation area :- More Info about Senec Back in September 1992, there was a Hash weekend in Senec. It was a weekend, remembered for the incredible price and the even more incredible run of 22 km, upon and down the ski slopes. More information about this piece of VH3 History. This weekend is know as either the Return to Senec or the Return to Sender Weekend, which leads us into the theme song and the Official Lyrics of Return to Sender. Of course the Hash has its own version which we will publish soon. This time we will also have amazing value, but as for the run - well we are getting older, so the hares should bear that in mind. (In any case, we have transport to help out!). So mark your diaries and book the weekend - Return to Senec (or is it Return to Sender by Elvis Presley)! We will be staying at the 3 star Hotel Zátoka (the Bay Hotel) which is directly on the water front of the Slnečné jazerá, otherwise known as the Sunny Lakes. Swimming is possible directly from the hotel. There is also a fitness room + Sauna included in the price. If you arrive early enough on Friday, you can use these facilities :-

The year is 1947. Vienna is in ruins and there is a black market for
counterfeit penicillin run by a criminal gang. Our role is to track down the
kingpin of this operation, a nefarious fellow known as Harry Lime, and place him
under arrest. Lime has recently been spotted in a number of establishments
around the 2nd District. While this is in the Soviet sector, special permission
has been obtained from Soviet authorities to search for him. We have a number of
informants stationed around the district who will give you clues as to his
possible whereabouts. Good luck!
19:00 - Meet in front of the entrance to the Augarten on Obere Augarten Str. How to get there: Take the U2 or number 2 tram to Taborstrasse and walk approx. 150m down Obere Augarten Str and you are there.
Note: The run fee is 10 euros to cover the cost of drinks during the pub crawl. Attendees are requested to wear trench coats as they will be posing as narcotics agents attached to the allied commission

14:00 - Check-in opens at the hotel and keys will be available for your rooms. The hotel will have a list of the room assignments, so just pick up your key at the reception. You will need your passport to check-in.
17:00 - Bar and Registration opens. The registration desk will be near reception, just look for Lord Glo-Balls and his helpers.
20:00 - We will have a meal in the Panorama Restaurant (sorry, dogs not allowed), followed by a pub crawl/quiz, starting after the meal around 21:00 or 21:30. Learn all you can about Elvis Presley. The registration desk will be closed between 20:00 and 21:00, so Lord Glo-Balls and his helpers can eat and then it will re-open after dinner.

10:00 - The main hash, with transport to point A (somewhere in the Little Carpathians http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_Carpathians) to point B, where if we are lucky, transport will be waiting. We will have lunch at some stage, during the run, and as this area is well known for excellent beer (and wine) we will have a few draught beers.

19:30 - In the evening we will have a substantial meal, which given good weather, will include a grill outside by the lake. After that, we will have party music and dancing. We have restaurants on lower floor of the building, one of which will be our music room. As we have just passed his 80th birthday and the name of this weekend is RETURN TO SENECDER, the theme for this evening will be Elvis Presley. Dress up as Elvis or one of his companions. Prizes for the best costume and the best performance of an Elvis song. |

08:00 to 09:30 Breakfast
11:00 - The farewell run and final down-downs.
You have to check-out by 12.00 on Sunday, so you need to have your luggage out of the room before the Hangover Hash. This can be stored in a safe area near reception, while you are on the Hangover Hash, or in your car.
13:30 (optional) Lunch at a nearby restaurant. This is at your own expense.
17:30 (optional) Hash in Bratislava. This is the BH3 300th Hash, so is well worth attending.
For accommodation in Bratislava, it is recommended to book the Park Inn, which is in the centre of Bratislava, amidst all of the action, using website www.trivago.de The current web-price for 17th May is 44 Euros for a double room with shower – this price for the room regardless of 1 or 2 people, without breakfast. Please note that this web-site gives the best prices – we could not book cheaper, even if we tried booking for a group.

18:30 - We will have our normal Monday Hash in Vienna (location on our normal schedule page, nearer the date) and any visitors that wish to extend their stay are welcome to join us.
This price is a package deal which includes the hotel room (double bedrooms, with a surcharge for single rooms, triples available on request), food (2 breakfasts, 2 dinners and Saturday lunch) and all the beer you can drink during the weekend (from Friday evening to the end of the Circle on Sunday), plus various extras (Haberdashery, Music, etc.). The number of single rooms at the Hotel is very limited. If you request a single, it may mean that you will be in the hotel next door (distance 200 meters). The cost of a single will be €10 extra for the weekend There will be some small extra charges for pets (dogs) and car parking, but these will be collected on the weekend. Facilities at the hotel which have a fee are excluded, such as massage (which is available at €15 per half hour), renting boats, darts, billiards, table football - for which you need to buy tokens. Also not included is the Aqua Park (with water slides etc) - but discount prices can be obtained. Use the link below for details of how to pay.
Hotel Capacity - The hotel was space for 68 hashers sleeping comfortably. This will mainly be in double rooms. If you want a single, there will be a small extra charge. For groups of 3 people, it would be possible to have 3 in a room, but we will not allocate 3 to a room unless requested. Now, if you are number 69 and above, we will book accommodation of similar quality at a nearby Pension/Hotel. If this is all full, and you have to go 4*, then this will of course, be at a higher price.
All this means is book early to ensure you are in the Main hotel! The Early bird price is €140, much cheaper than previous VH3 Weekends. Register by end of January to get the Early Bird Price, after that the cost will be €150, and after end of March it will be latecomers price of €160 (unless we can only get a room in the 4 star, in which the cost will be €180).

Transport - Senec is 25 km from Bratislava. There is no need to take the Slovakian Motorway (which would mean you need to buy a motorway sticker) since there is a direct main road from Bratislava to Senec, which is fast.
Please note that there is a parking fee of 2.5 euros per night per car for guarded parking. If you park at your own risk outside the hotel grounds, this is free.
Directions for Driving
Leave Vienna on the A4 taking the exit number 19 signposted Fischamend. Turn
right towards Bratislava on the Pressburger Bundesstraße B9. Continue towards
the border passing Maria Ellend, Hainburg, Wolfstal and cross the border into
Bratislava (the Berg border) on the 61.
After crossing the border, turn
right, taking the toll free section of the motorway. Keep right, joining the
motorway, and then immediately right again, signs Zilina. Continue on the
motorway, crossing the Danube.
Take the exit with the Blue Senec Sign, signed
Bratislava-Vajnory (Blue = Free - if you continue, on the motorway you will be
fined unless you have a Slovak Motorway sticker).
Join the main road, the 61,
towards Senec passing Ivanka pri Dunaji, Bernolakovo, Velky Biel and enter Senec.
Enter Senec on the 61, going under a bridge, and go straight ahead at the
first roundabout. At the second roundabout (Billa Supermarket), take the 3rd
exit keeping on the 61. At the third roundabout (Lidl Supermarket), leave the
61, by taking the second exit Boldocká cesta (passing Lidl on the left) in the
direction of Recká.
Now take care to find the hotel: Follow the road, which
bends to the right and you are now on Recká cesta (direction Reca) The road now
turns slightly to the left and you will see the giant water slide (Aquapark
Senec) on your right. Now turn right going past the water slide until you come
to a road junction – turn left onto Slnecné Jazerá - sever.
Hotel Zátoka is
about 500 Metres on the right.
Trains from Vienna and Bratislava
There are regular trains from Bratislava Main Station (Bratislava Hlavna Stanica) which take less than 30 minutes to Senec. Thus from Vienna, it is possible to take a train from the Hauptbahnhof and change at Hlavna Stanica. On arriving at Senec Station, either walk (15-20 minutes) or take a taxi. The train from Bratislava to Senec is free for everyone of 62 years and above, if you have Slovak Travel Card, These Travel Cards can be obtained if you have a EU passport, see here for more details :- http://www.slovakrail.sk/en/zero-fare.html. As the fares are really low on these trains, you will not pay much if you don't have time to get this Travel Card.
Train Times from Vienna and Bratislava
Friday 15th May Wien Hauptbahnhof Hbf 15.21 – Bratislava Hlava Stanica 16.27: Bratislava Hlava Stanica -17:07 – Senec 17:33.
Note that on the Departures Board in Bratislava, to find the right platform, you need to look for the final destination of the train, For the train leaving Bratislava at 17.07, this is Komarno.
You can make the same journey starting at Wien Hbf at12:21, 13.21, 14:21, 15.21, 16.21, 17.21, 18.21, 19.21 (every hour). Now, the destination of the train to look out for on the Bratislava departures board is either Nove Zamky, Sala or Komarno.
Return trains on Sunday are at 14:24, 16.24, 18.24 (note, every 2 hours on Sunday).
Buy a EURegio return ticket to Bratislava, and in Bratislava buy a ticket to Senec.
Taxi from the Senec train station to the hotel costs 3 euros, or you can walk using the directions below.
Directions for walking from Senec Station to Hotel
Leave the station and walk left on Zeleznicna (do not enter the lake recreation area, for which you may have to pay), Proceed ahead passing the Spacemania Coffee house and now at the road junction, take Heckova, which is on the right hand side. Continue passing junctions with Rybarska and Vodna, passing the Amphitheatre, and take the right at Stefanikova. Now you pass the Aquapark, and the road becomes Slnecné Jazerá. Continue another 500 metres and Hotel Zátoka is on your right.
Total distance around 2km = 20 minutes fast walking, with no stop for drinks.
Bratislava Airport to Hotel in Senec
It is recommended to take a taxi. Otherwise you take the 61 bus to Bratislava Station (Hlavna Stanica) and then the train to Senec.
Senec is positioned advantageously for foreign Guests, with the Airport only 20 km from the hotel. Ryannair and other cheap Airlines fly there. The price of a taxi is approximately 25 euros. It would be possible if we know your arrival times to arrange taxis.
Vienna Airport to Hotel in Senec
We will do our best to arrange lifts with VH3 Hashers to the Hotel in Senec. If you arrive late, then you may have to use a taxi, which costs around 80 euros. If you have not arranged a lift, then use the train (see above for details).
