Vindobona Hash House Harriers - 1st Austrian Nash Hash 17 to 19 June 2005 in Payerbach

The 1st Austrian Nash Hash will be held in the town of Payerbach on the weekend of 17 to 19 June 2005.  Since the founding of the Graz Hash in August 2005, we now have 2 hashes in Austria. Vindobona Hash House Harriers was started in April 1982 and we have waited patiently 23 years for the opportunity to hold this event!

Payerbach is in the beautiful Semmering - Rax - Schneeberg area. The hotel we have selected (Hotel Payerbachhof) can accommodate 70 Hashers in normal bed rooms, plus a dormitory for 20. Those who opt for the dormitory will pay much less for the weekend, but must bring a sleeping bag.

Please note that the run fee will be 80 euros. This run fee does not include bed and breakfast for Friday and Saturday night. It does include dinner and all the drinks for Friday and Saturday night in the Main Hotel. You will be asked to pay the hotel directly for bed and breakfast. The Main Hotel will cost about 70 to 75 euros for the weekend, the dormitory (just a large room with mattresses on the floor) is in the Main Hotel and will cost 20 euros for the weekend. Additional is available in a 5 star hotel (Hotel Marienhof in Reichenau) about 2km from the Hotel Payerbach. The cost of the 5 star hotel is about 100 euros for the weekend. Everyone will have dinner in the Main Hotel, but breakfast will be in the same hotel as your bed.

Payerbach is the last station of a commuter service ("Wiesel") from the Südbahnhof in Vienna. The journey by train is 85 km and takes about 1 hour 15 minutes or 1 hour 30 minutes, depending on the time of day. The railway station is 300 yards/meters from the hotel. Check the ÖBB (Austrian State Railway) website for the best connections. Driving from Vienna takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes.

Thursday (Pre-Lube)

19: 30 Meet in the Restaurant Herlitschka, located in Traungasse (3rd district of Vienna). Use this map to find your way there.

Friday

18:00 Warm-up Run.

20:00 Dinner and drinks until late.

Saturday

08:00 Breakfast.

09:00 Meet in front of Hotel for a day of running, eating and drinking. There will be walkers trails and shortcuts for those who wish to minimize the running.

Please note, early start is dependent on transportation to start of run (which is an A to B), so don't be late!

19:00 Dinner.

21:00 Disco and Partying until late.

Sunday

11:00 Hangover Run, followed by circle and goodbyes. Lunch is not provided in the run fee, but is available in the hotel at your own expense.

Rooms will be available until mid-afternoon for showers and packing.

Currently (end of May 2005), we have run out of accommodation in the main hotel. There is still some space left in the dormitory (in the main hotel), the 5-star hotel or camping in the grounds of the main hotel.
